The 2020 ACLS Provider Manual and online prerequisites are both mandatory for this course. ACLS students must complete the self-assessment and pre-course work (videos & quizzes) as described on page 2 of the mandatory textbook.
Participants will need to log on to: elearning.heart.org to create an account (or sign in to an existing account). Click on “Courses” on the top left of the page, click on “Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support”, Scroll down to “ACLS Precourse Self Assessment and Precourse Video Work”, then click “Launch Course”. A Precourse Self Assessment score of 70% or higher in each section is required to attend the course (retake as needed).
You must provide both the self assessment and pre-course certificates to your instructor before the start of class, or you will not be eligible to attend. This is an AHA mandate. There are no exceptions.
To recertify your BLS card after completing ACLS, select the “BLS Completion Course” option from the dropdown box on the ACLS registration page. This will consist of a video review and a written BLS test (Skills will be performed during the ACLS course). If attending this completion course, please refer to page 59 of the ACLS prep packet for an additional mandatory pre-test.
